The Mayan loom telar is an ancient technique developed by the Mayan culture in the western mountains of Guatemala. The loom is held at two ends, one of them, the weaver’s waist. It is practiced by Mayan women to weave colorful canvases, which become garments such as hipiles or decorative pieces for the home.
