Ensamble Artesano, Taller Maya and This Is Latinamerica
In México the ground is alive, minerals are transformed into colors, and the threads of nature are transformed into beautiful textiles.
This is Latin America is proud to introduce a collaboration with two great meaningful projects from Mexico: Ensamble Artesano and Taller Maya, in which we will tell the stories of the pieces, the hands and the faces of those who keep the tradition of making handcrafted pieces alive, with their hands, through the earth, fire, minerals, that honor their ancestors and that today are mixed with the most avant-garde trends of design, to create unique pieces.
Ensamble Artesano is a collaborative and social entrepreneurship platform created for the economic reactivation of the artisan communities in Mexico that were affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the work and artisan activity of women and men who were affected by the health emergency in Mexico.
The hands of the artisans are the roots of the project and the protagonists of this collection: Ensamble Artesano and Taller Maya.
The relationship between the artisans, nature and their cultural inheritance gives life to this project.
