The work of Bayrol Jiménez is formally and conceptually based on drawing and painting, taking inspiration from comic strips and Mexican pop culture. His works are often ambitious installations, revealing an unbridled imagination and combining a large variety of mediums such as wall drawing, tapestry, painting, sculpture, and performance.

Bayrol Jiménez is an alumni of Villa Arson (Nice, France) and La Esmeralda (Cdmx, Mexico). His work has been presented in solo in Mexico, Germany, France, the U.K., the Netherlands, Spain and the U.S. He took part in the exhibition Resisting the Present at the Museum of Modern Art of Paris in 2012, in the group exhibition Sakahan at the National Gallery of Canada in 2013, as well as in the Havana Biennial in 2015. Jiménez also participated in residencies at Fonderie Darling (Montreal, 2019), SeMA Nanji (Seoul, 2017), PAOS (Guadalajara, 2015) and la Cité des Arts (Paris, 2012). He lives and works in Oaxaca (Mexico).
