A Handmade Hand! This hand was specially made for the famous mezcaleros (mezcal shot). You can also used this coaster as a candle holder or any kind of small mug or glass. This mysterious finishing is unique from the Tonaltepec community, Oaxaca. It’s done with natural pigments. Tonaltepec is one of the few places that still use natural dyes. The finishing and shape may vary because of the handmade process. It is normal that mud “sweats” at the beginning. If this happens, you can “cure” the item by dipping it in water with salt for 24 hours. Let’s support the Cortes and Cruz family that gives life to these beautiful items. H 4, W 4.5 in.

Clay shot glasses are typically used in Mexico because the clay helps to taste all the flavors from any liquor you are drinking. Get them in this beautiful color and finish originally from Zapotitla Puebla. The technique used is Burniche Mud; the name comes from the use of different quartz to polish the piece at the end of the process. After the artisan takes the soil from the mountains, they leave it under the sun to dry for about 2 to 3 days. After this, the mud mixes with water and turn into soft mud to be able to work and mold the pieces. After the piece is mold, they leave it under the sun and then in the oven several times until it takes this authentic look.
