      This mezcal tasting set was a finalist in 2018 at the International Design Excellence Awards for IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America) in the home category. Made of high-temperature ceramics, each mezcalero has a capacity of 1 ounce. It goes on a base of parota wood or huanacaxtle and has a space for worm salt. Ceramics are manufactured in Mexico City in a ceramic workshop, a family that has more than 30 years of experience and wood in a workshop Carpentry in the city of Aguascalientes, led by a woman.

      Inspired by the folds that remain on the paper when unfolding the origami pieces, and are shaped like prisms, and it is with that plane another piece is reconstructed, which is this cup. Made of high-temperature ceramics (stoneware), you can microwave and dishwasher. By emptying and burning at 1200o C by monocoction (the stew that is when it passes from clay to ceramics, it is always the first burning, the second, is when it is glazed; in this case, the piece is glazed raw and put into a single burn and the final piece comes out, that’s why monocooking because it is boiled and glazed in a burn, instead of two). Manufactured in Mexico City in a family workshop, which has been operating for more than 30 years.

      A Handmade Hand! You can use this hand as a coaster or even as a candle holder. This mysterious finishing is unique from the Tonaltepec community, Oaxaca. It’s done with natural pigments. Tonaltepec is one of the few places that still use natural dyes. The finishing and shape may vary because of the handmade process. It is normal that mud “sweats” at the beginning. If this happens, you can “cure” the item by dipping it in water with salt for 24 hours. Let’s support the Cortes and Cruz family that gives life to these beautiful items. H 6, W 5 in.

      Our beautiful Handmade Palma products are made in the mountains of South Mexico in Tlamacazapa, Municipio of Taxco de Alarcón, in the state of Guerrero.
      Almost all the village is dedicated to weaving palm products, most of them women. An ancient art they have preserved over centuries without being aware of it. The palm leaves come from the mountains and people from other near towns arrive to Tlamacazapa to sell the palm leaves every week. The dyes come from Chilapa Guerrero.

      A small group of artisans make this Red heart in Michoacan, Mexico. Barro bruñido was a technique used by the Mayan civilization that was lost for many years and “Don José” recently rediscovered. The elaboration consists in selecting the right mud and shaping the piece, let it dry, then it is rubbed with a river stone, and finally colored with natural paint extracted directly from natural oxides and fired between 500-700°C, the temperature gives the color. For them, creating the pottery is not just a livelihood; it is their inheritance. They are dedicated not only to their work, but to the preservation and continuance of traditional Mexican prehispanic ceramic. Usually, these designs are wild and full of expression.
